ActiveMenu Overview

ActiveMenu is initially a mouse-reactive button. When the button is clicked, a menu containing unlimited entries appears below it. Each entry on the menu is mouse-reactive and can link to a different URL, each having its own parameters for defining frame-target and status-bar message. Clicking the main button a second time closes the menu. If you change your mind after clicking a menu-entry, drag the pointer out of the menu to cancel the action.

All colors and font variables are user-definable. Spacers can be placed on the menu to divide entries into groups. The applet is easily resized to cater for longer text-strings or a larger font for the button-label, and is capable of counting your menu-entries and setting the correct length for the menu automatically. There is also optional sound support.

NEW IN V3.0:
  • Support for unlimited menu entries.
  • Entry font-size is now editable.
  • The menu-length is now determined automatically to make setting-up faster and easier.
  • A new BgImage parameter allows a background image to be placed behind the menu.
  • A new TouchSensitive parameter allows the menu to be opened by simply moving the mouse into the button area; the menu closes automatically when unfocussed.
  • A new ShowArrow parameter allows the arrow on the button to be removed.
  • Users of previous versions of ActiveMenu should take a look at Upgrading to ActiveMenu 3.0 for a complete list of the changes made in this version.
